Childbirth Preparation Classes
Tailored to your interests and expectations, this class will cover the basics of what you may experience birthing your baby. A combination of different theories are used including Lamaze, Hypnobirthing and Bradley method. It is a Prepared Childbirth Class that is evidence based so that families are more able to make informed decisions. We follow techniques from the book"Prepared Childbirth The Family Way", by Debby Amis and Jeanne Green which is included in the class price. We will cover: Stages of Labor, when to go to the hospital, basic breathing exercises, positions, pain medications, danger signs, emergencies, induction, and caesareans, to name the major headings. If you would like a natural childbirth without medication we can spend more time on relaxation techniques and breathing exercises. If it is an epidural you want, we can discuss when the best time is to ask for one. I have pictures to assist with our discussions, plus, we will watch a DVD on a normal vaginal delivery. A booklet is included for you to keep and read more thoroughly.

Refresher Childbirth Preparation Classes
It all depends on what you want to learn! We can go over the whole class start to finish but condensed to 2 hours or we can work on comfort measures in early labor for 2 hours. Whatever it is you need we will do. Keep the booklet full of valuable information.One 2 hour class: $100.00
Baby Care Instruction
Demonstrations and practice with holding, bathing, diapering, burping and swaddling with a life sized baby doll. Class includes discussions on newborn characteristics, behavior, sleep patterns, temperature taking, how to tell if you baby is sick as well as product and gear suggestions.
Two 20 minute DVD's are presented and a booklet is provided.
